Basic Chords
These chords are based on the main seven musical notes (pitches) C (‘do’), D (‘re’), E (‘mi’), F (‘fa’), G (‘sol’), A (‘la’), B (‘si’), which correspond to their tone. The basic chords are based on these notes.
Semitone Sharp Chords
Semitone # (‘sharp’) chords are based on the raised by a semitone (half-step) main notes: C#, D#, F#, G#, A#. Since the semitone between the notes is the same, raised chords (#-sharp) are equivalent to lowered chords (b-flat).
Semitone Flat Chords
Semitone b (‘flat’) chords are based on the lowered by a semitone (half-step) main notes: Db, Eb, Gb, Ab, Bb. Since the semitone between the notes is the same, lowered chords (b-flat) are equivalent to raised chords (#-sharp).
